This is a booklet that I designed. I had set copy to work with and some technical requirements, but everything from the grid, book size, fonts and cover was up to me. I channeled what I'd learned from Dutch design with this one. The size of the book was environmentally designed so that when it was paginated, all of the pages fit perfectly onto two 11x17 pages with no waste. I wanted to go with a modern design and keep the color palette simple: black, white and a splash of hot pink. The inside photos are also all in black and white. I felt it appropriate to have the cover be just type (as it’s about a type house) and separated the word “DIVIDED” from the rest of the title to push the theme of the booklet. I love exposed stitch binding, so I chose this for my book and used hot pink thread to pull the color scheme together.
